‘MAJOR V’ CALLS CRITICS DOGS IN CHURCH
MATSAPHA – The tension was palpable at Mountain of Salvation Church in Matsapha, yesterday, when Prophet Vusumuzi ‘Major V’ Dlamini vented his frustrations to the congregants.
The prophet accused some individuals of betraying his trust. During the Sunday service, Dlamini spoke emotionally, addressing what he described as the ‘evil hearts’ of those who had spoken ill of him. At one point, he even referred to those who criticised him as dogs. The fiery speech came shortly after a Facebook Live broadcast, in which Dlamini shared his personal story and the blessings he believes God has bestowed upon him. In the video, Dlamini opened up about the struggles he has faced, stating that he once lost everything in his life and God turned his situation around.
He credited his current success to the grace of God and the support of Their Majesties, who appointed him a member of Liqoqo at a time when he was at his lowest. ‘Major V’ used his own story to highlight a broader lesson, stating that success is not defined by formal education but by the fear of God.
Member
As the service continued, Dlamini focused on what he referred to as ‘jealousy’ within his church. He referred to a former church member, who left the congregation and allegedly stole the wife of another member. According to the prophet, this individual later spread negative rumours about him and his ministry. The mood in the church was tense as the prophet , who is also a Liqoqo member, addressed his followers sternly, warning them against living double lives. He also took the opportunity to speak out against gossip within the church. Dlamini made it clear that he would not tolerate those who spoke negatively about him or his leadership. He stressed that he would rather see his church return to its roots than compromise the truth. Dlamini, who said he was unyielding in his stance, stated that his goal is to guide the church to spiritual growth, even if it means taking difficult actions.
During the sermon, Dlamini also cautioned his congregation against disrespecting Their Majesties, reminding them that the Bible commands followers to honour their rulers. He likened those who spoke against the prosperity of the King to Gehaz in the Bible—individuals with ‘evil hearts’ and a sense of entitlement. Dlamini also shared the story of a church member who had been loyal to him since the political unrest in 2021, taking videos of him during that time. The loyal member, according to Dlamini, eventually landed a stable job after his commitment to him and his church. However, Dlamini revealed that the member’s wife had been pursued and taken by another church member working in the media department of the church. This, Dlamini claimed, led to the pair insulting him publicly. The prophet told the congregation in anger that: “Lona washiywa ngumfati ngemuntfu lokhonta la, ngoba lana sigcwalise tinja! Ucabange kutsi ukhuluma nemuntfu kantsi ukhuluma nenja.”
This can be loosely translated to mean that, ‘he lamented that a loyal church member had been abandoned by his wife after another church member, whom he referred to as a ‘dog,’ had taken her’. The congregants were visibly affected by his words, with some members heaving audible sighs. Despite the anger, Dlamini advised his followers that it was better not to have friends in the church than to have friends who were also church members, hinting at the difficulty of trusting others. He suggested that new members would rather be his friends than make friends with other church members, as this would eliminate gossip.
Emotional
Following this intense rebuke, Dlamini allowed the loyal church member to testify about the blessings he had received after remaining loyal to him. He reiterated that truth is key to healing, both for individuals and the church as a whole. The service took a turn towards reconciliation when Dlamini spoke of forgiving a member who had once betrayed him and caused division in the church. The member, he said, had approached him to ask for forgiveness, and while Dlamini had granted it, he urged the individual to come to the church in person and apologise to the congregation. In closing, the prophet reassured his church, referring to them as his ‘children,’ and insisted that his emotional outburst was not an act of shouting, but rather an expression of his desire to protect and guide them. The intense session ended on a lighter note with music and dancing, followed by a performance of Solly Mahlangu’s songs, which helped break the tension and lift the spirits of the congregation.
