THRONGS OF EMASWATI JOIN KING AT LITTLE INCWALA
LUDZIDZINI – EmaSwati came in numbers to dance the ongoing Little Incwala.
The participants joined His Majesty King Mswati III and Her Majesty the Queen Mother for the event, which entered its second day at Ludzidzini Royal Residence yesterday.
The King will continue to lead the nation in the national event until he moves on to the other royal residences, leaving the Queen Mother and Ludzidzini regiments at the main royal residence.
The King will end at Buhleni Royal Residence, where he will then summon all regiments across the country to Ngabezweni Royal Residence, in readiness for commissioning of the young boys (Ingatja) to fetch the sacred shrubs (lusekwane) and red leaves (imbondvo), ahead of the main Incwala Ceremony. This might take place on the 15th day since the commencement of the ongoing Little Incwala. The Incwala Ceremony is an annual event, where emaSwati celebrate the fruit of the first harvest.
The nation also celebrates the existence of peace and stability since the country gained its independence from Britain in 1968. EmaSwati also celebrate the new year and seek God’s guidance and protection for the New Year at the event.
