KING LEADS HUNDREDS OF EMASWATI TO NGABEZWENI
NGABEZWENI - His Majesty King Mswati III yesterday led hundreds of emaSwati to Ngabezweni Royal Residence, as the ongoing Little Incwala entered its fourth day.
The King left the Queen Mother, who is leading the other regiments, at Ludzidzini Royal Residence. The fourth day of the ongoing event was received with joy as the warriors, Imbali, Bokhololo and Lutsango came in numbers. From Ngabezweni Royal Residence, the King will move to the other royal residences, until he reaches Buhleni Royal Residence.
Summon
From Buhleni, the King will summon all regiments across the country to Ngabezweni Royal Residence for a one-day camp, in readiness for commissioning of the young boys (Ingatja), to fetch sacred shrubs known as lusekwane and red leaves (imbondvo). All this is expected to happen within 15 days since the commencement of the important cultural event in the history of Eswatini. After the return of the Ingatja with lusekwane and the red leaves, they will be afforded the opportunity to show their bravery through killing a bull without weapons, before the main Incwala day on the following day.
During the main day, emaSwati will be joined by other nations in the worship and cebration of the existance of peace and stability since the country gained its independence from Britain in 1968. The nation will also celebrate the fruit of the first harvest. They will also celebrate the new year and seek God’s guidance and protection during the course of the year. The event unites emaSwati in the culture, which distinguishes them from other nations.
