EARLY PAY FOR CIVIL SERVANTS; EARLY LOAN DEDUCTIONS
MBABANE – Due to the early pay for the months of December and January, some banks are taking a proactive approach on loan repayments by implementing early deductions.
This move aims to ensure timely payments, especially during the festive season and January. The early deductions warnings were sent by some local banks to customers through the short message service from yesterday. “Hi dear customer, please note that your December and January loan deductions will be made early due to salary payment changes,” reads one of the messages from a local bank. During this time of the year, most companies pay salaries for their employees earlier than usual.
Civil servants are among those who will receive early pay. This was confirmed by Minister of Public Service Mabulala Maseko. The minister disclosed that civil servants will be getting paid next week Tuesday. Early payments for civil servants for these two months have been the norm over the years. Upon hearing the early pay news, some civil servants were in a celebratory mood yesterday, posting about it while others even decried the early pay, stating that the money will be exhausted by the time Christmas day comes. Maseko said this is one way for government to show that it is prioritising the welfare of the civil servants.
