‘MAJOR V’ PAYS LOBOLA, WEDS WIFE SAME DAY
MBABANE – Prophet Vusumuzi ‘Major V’ Dlamini, known for his embodiment of happiness, has tied the knot once again.
He married his sweetheart, Nolwazi Mhlanga, in a vibrant and colourful ceremony held yesterday in Matsapha. The event was truly special, featuring a double celebration; the payment of the bride price and the wedding itself. The occasion was filled with song and dance, bringing immense joy to the couple and their families as they marked this significant milestone in their lives. ‘Major V’s family paid 15 cattle to the Simelane family, and the prophet, always in high spirits, surprised his father-in-law with a car. In return, the in-laws gifted the newly-weds money, two goats and chickens in a customary rite known as kuphemba, which provides the new family with traditional start-up wealth.
Dlamini made an impressive entrance at his in-laws’ compound, dancing to a song before waiting for his bride in the marquee. Nolwazi also dazzled the crowd, entering the arena with her own dance. The celebrations began on Friday evening when the Dlamini family announced the number of dowry cattle, followed by the wedding festivities the next day. The wedding and celebrations took place at the Simelane compound in Matsapha, with a large number of well-wishers from the community in attendance. The event was concluded in another lively moment when ‘Major V’ invited the guests who ‘love the bottle’, and they eagerly responded.
