UNESWA OPENS DOORS TO 3 500 STUDENTS FOR 2025

MBABANE – The University of Eswatini (UNESWA) has announced it will offer admission to 3 500 students for the 2025 academic year. Providing an opportunity for those who recently passed their Form V examinations, results were released on Friday. The recent Form V results saw 2 600 students qualify for university admission based on achieving five credit passes or better, including English. UNESWA offers over 60 undergraduate programmes across its eight faculties,  encompassing a range of disciplines, including humanities, education, science, health sciences, and others.

Array of choices

All programmes are currently open for applications, giving prospective students a wide array of choices. Vice Chancellor Professor Justice Thwala revealed this information yesterday, confirming that applications open tomorrow. “Classes are scheduled to resume in August 2025. We advise prospective students to carefully consider their chosen field of study and ensure they meet all the minimum qualification criteria. This includes a credit pass in English Language and any further subject-specific requirements stipulated by each faculty,” said Professor Thwala.

For science-related disciplines, for example, students typically need a credit in English and credits in mathematics and two science subjects. Crucially, applicants must also meet the required course aggregate points, a metric defined by the university for each programme. A non-refundable application fee of E500 is required. The university encourages students to apply for programmes in which they have the strongest likelihood of qualifying. UNESWA uses minimum aggregate scores, which vary by programme, to determine eligibility. Applicants are strongly advised to consult the published cut-off points for their desired courses before submitting their applications.
