SITEKI – Seven members of a family, including three primary school children and a 17-year-old, were hospitalised after consuming a meal at their home at Ntamakuphila, near Siteki. The family members, ranging in age from 6 to 71, were admitted to Good Shepherd Catholic Hospital. They were treated and discharged over the course of Friday and Saturday. Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed that investigations are ongoing. Authorities are awaiting the results of tests conducted by the hospital to determine the nature of the suspected substance. The family has declined to comment on the incident, citing the ongoing police investigation. Neighbours and community members expressed concern and wished the family a speedy recovery.
