MBABANE - The alleged actions of the street pastor have provoked outrage among the residents of Mangwaneni, in Mbabane.

Consequently, those who have been following the case with keen interest flocked to the Mbabane Magistrates Court to catch a glimpse of Sipho Mbuyisa.

Many residents claimed to be unfamiliar with the man, who is reported to originate from Siteki. “We are here just to see the man who has the audacity to kill, rob, assault and rape our people. We understand that now that he is in the hands of the law, there is little we can do, but seeing him will make a difference,” expressed some of the residents interviewed outside the court.

The residents, who had sat quietly during the initial confession, made their way to the courtroom only after Mbuyisa completed his statement. Eager to witness the accused, they filled the courtroom as they awaited his arrival. Mbuyisa had not yet entered the space when the residents began to murmur in anticipation.

Accompanied

When he eventually did enter the courtroom, Mbuyisa was accompanied by police officers who were vigilant, sensing a potential outbreak of hostility from the crowd. Some residents could be heard whispering as Mbuyisa walked in, appearing relaxed despite the gravity of the situation.

Mbabane Police Station Desk Officer Inspector Akhona Dludlu directed Mbuyisa to take a seat among the police officers at the back of the courtroom, before he was called into the dock as the accused.

Following his remand hearing, Mbuyisa was escorted by police officers out of the courtroom; the residents quickly rushed to position themselves for photographs. The situation prompted police intervention, as officers pleaded with the crowd to create space while they gathered around Mbuyisa to snap pictures and record videos. This incident demonstrates the palpable distress and anger of the community in response to the severe allegations against Mbuyisa. The case continues to unfold, with residents keenly observing every development as they seek both justice and clarity in a matter that has deeply affected their community.
