Fikile appointed Nedbank MD
MBABANE - Nedbank Swaziland Limited has appointed Fikile Nkosi as the bank’s Managing Director.
Nedbank Chairman, Mabili Dlamini, issued an official statement to the effect of Nkosi’s appointment to the bank’s top seat.
Nkosi is however, not new to the role of leading the bank since she has been acting Managing Director from August 1, 2010 untill the time of her confirmation to her new position.
She assumed the acting position after the resignation of Ambrose Dlamini.
Dlamini resigned to pursue other career opportunities and is now the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Swaziland.
"We are pleased to announce the appointment of Fikile Nkosi as Managing Director of Nedbank Swaziland Limited," reads the statement in part.
Nkosi has been with Nedbank for nine years, previously enlisted with the tasks of heading the banks various core divisions.
"The confirmation of her appointment is a significant milestone in her nine-year career with Nedbank Swaziland Limited, reads the statement.
Fikile served as Head of Internal Audit before becoming the Chief Financial Officer in June 2004.
Opportunity
In her capacity as the CFO, Nkosi had the opportunity to be a member of the executive committee and also being a permanent invitee of meetings of the Nedbank Swaziland Limited board and its sub committees.
Nkosi has an attractive academic background and has been described by the Chairman of Nedbank Swaziland Limited, as "well equipped for this new position."
She is a graduate of the Management Advancement Programme at Wits Business School, of the University of South Africa (B. Compt Honours) and University of Swaziland (B.Comm). She also has a diploma in accounting and business studies.
Among her previous duties, Nkosi was responsible for the bank’s general financial management, financial reporting and ensuring that regulatory requirements were adhered to.
She was also responsible for setting and monitoring the bank’s budget, tax affairs, Base II implementation, procurment, insurance and business partnering.
Nkosi was not present when she was formally introduced to the staff of Nedbank as she was reportedly out of the country on executive assignment.
