MBABANE – Hard work pays. Founder of the Free Evangelical Church Reverend Andrias Sikhova Msibi has reaped what he has sown for the past 50 years as his church has given him a house worth E1million.

The house is a gift to the Reverend and a token of appreciation for his contribution to the church for the past 50 years.

Msibi (72) has been with the church since its establishment in 1958.

He is currently leading the Zakhele Free Evangelical Church, a church he formed in 1982.

Msibi is a well-known man of God as he is among the oldest pastors alive. He once served as a member of Liqoqo.

The decision to build the house which is situated at Fairview in Manzini was taken by the church members after they felt that their leader needed a better house as he grew older. The church started to build the house six months ago.

The keys were handed over to Msibi on Saturday during a well organised event.

The church Secretary Muzi Yende said after looking at the years that Msibi had been with the church, they saw it proper that that they give him a gift.

"When the idea was initiated, no one thought the house would be completed after looking all the expenses. However, because of what Msibi has done and has been doing for us, it was felt that he should be given the gift and building a house for him was the perfect idea," he said.

After taking the decision of building the house for the Reverend, they then made strategies in as far as the fundraising was concerned.

"The church members were all out to support the building of the house. They were committed and I must say as a church committee, we were very much humbled with what the church members have done. This has also proved as to how much they love their leader," he said.

Msibi’s son, Phile also confirmed that his father had received a house as a present from the church members.

"My father has been staying in the church mission ever since the Zakhele Free Evangelical was formed. However, the church members felt they should build him a house. We really appreciate what the church has done for our father," he said.
