December deadline for Sikhuphe opening

MBABANE - The Sikhuphe International Airport will now be opened on or before December 2013.


Solomon Dube, Director of the Swaziland Civil Aviation Authority (SWACAA) said this date was now definite and based of the estimated time for completion of ongoing construction work and the commissioning of equipment at the multimillion facility.


He said, however, the ultimate and final date will come from His Majesty the King.


He said the airport was supposed to have been opened in April but this did not happen because of many reasons, some of which were that construction work and the testing
