MANZINI – Dups Insurance have led by example in the Young Girls Toiletry Hampers Campaign by donating E20 000 on Friday.

The donation was held at the company’s headquarters boardroom in Manzini.
Dups Insurance Administrator Bongani Shongwe said as a partner with Imbali Foundation and the Times of Swaziland, they found it very important to lead by example in the campaign.

He said they previously met with the Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku who told them about the Child Protection Act, which seeks to strengthen the rights of children and they felt that the Girls Toiletry Hampers Campaign was also in line with the Act.

“Most of the time women, including the girl child are usually left behind, so we are happy that today we have joined hands with Imbali Foundation to do something that seeks to empower them, brightening the future of the country,” he said.

He said it was also part of the company’s social responsibility to help the needy as they have previously donated socks and shoes to schools, churches and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and others like the Scara Thindwa Foundation Tournament.

The campaign has been initiated by Imbali Foundation with a seed Capital of E25 000 from Buy ‘N Save Spar.

The Times of Swaziland and Dups Insurance have rallied their support towards ensuring the success of this initiative aimed at providing toiletry hampers for the girls who will take part in this year’s annual Reed Dance.
