Over E3 000 splashed during the roadshow
NHLANGANO – Over E3 000 was splashed during a roadshow held at the Zama Zama Complex in Nhlangano on Saturday.
The roadshow, hosted by the Times of Swaziland, Premier Swazi Bakeries, SwaziPost and AIDS Health Care Foundation was attended by over 1 000 people from Nhlangano and others from nearby places. It could not have been a proper roadshow without the performances of top local gospel groups who included Shongwe and Khuphuka Gospel Group and Mduduzi Nezinceku Zamagawugawu.
The two groups were crowd pullers as most people attending the roadshow seemed to appreciate their performances.
The people were inspired by the HIV/AIDS educational programmes that were conducted by AHCF who also gave away free condoms during the event.
Other local artists that performed included Pelepele Drama Group, The Kasi Girls and the Black Cats.
The roadshow started around 9am with the public being entertained by the various artists.
The attendees got an opportunity of winning themselves fabulous prizes which include money, T-Shirts, coffee mugs and condoms both for males and females. Others won themselves bread that was provided by Premier Swazi Bakeries.
The public was also asked HIV and AIDS related questions and were also encouraged to undergo the voluntary testing in order to know their HIV status.
Officials from AHF also demonstrated how to use male and female condoms.
The public was further encouraged to avoid having sex with multiple partners as this puts them at risk of being infected with HIV.
The road show ended at around 4:00pm with the people still being entertained by music from the gospel artists who displayed splendid performances.
