Mabhanisi and Co. to file complaint with EBC
MANZINI - Some Kwaluseni aspiring Members of Parliament (MPs) are on the verge of filing a letter of complaint with the Elections and Bound-aries commission (EBC).
The aspiring MPs, who want to write a letter of complaint, are those who lost to former Kwaluseni Indvuna yeNkh-undla and they include former Kwaluseni Member of Parliament Sibusiso Mabhanisi Dlamini.
Dlamini lost to former Kwaluseni Indvuna yeNkhundla, Purine Bhembe, by 176 votes as Bhembe recorded 633 while Dlamini managed to obtain 457 votes.
Also in the race was former MP Sibusiso Nkambule and he got position three with 423 votes.
Accepted
However, Nkambule, in a previous interview, accepted the defeat and congratulated Bhembe for her victory.
He also wished her luck in the secondary elections to be held on September 20, 2013 where she would be competing with Mkhosi Dlamini who won the primary elections at Logoba Chiefdom.
Nkambule also made it clear that he was not going to write any letter of complaint.
Information gathered from a reliable source was that the said aspiring MPs were currently seeking advice from their lawyers and they would submit the letter of complaint to the EBC before the end of the week.
In an interview yesterday, the former MP, Dlamini confirmed that he was currently seeking legal advice from his lawyers with regard to some malpractices which he claimed happened during the primary elections at Kwaluseni Chiefdom on Saturday.
Malpractices
“There were a number of malpractices that we observed and I am currently being advised by my lawyers on how I can write a letter of complaint to the relevant body.
“I am sure that before the end of this week the letter will be submitted to the relevant body,” Dlamini said.
However, Dlamini said he could not publicise the allegations because the matter was still being handled by his lawyers and he was not appointed the spokesperson of the aggrieved faction.
He mentioned that the EBC was not fully prepared to handle some of the challenges that emerged at Kwaluseni Central Primary School polling station.
