Soldier in motorbike, bmw x3 accident dies

A firefighter puts out flames from the back tyre of the BMW X3 which was involved in an accident with a motorbike.

MANZINI- The member of the Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF), who was riding the motorbike which was burnt beyond recognition, has since died.

The soldier, who will not be named as some of his relatives had not been informed, is reported to have died at the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital while undergoing treatment on Wednesday night.

The USDF acting PRO, Major Madoda Mkhatshwa, confirmed that the army lost one of its members during the horrific accident.
“The rider of the motorbike has since died, however, we cannot divulge more information on his death as some of his family members have not been informed as yet,” Mkhatshwa said.

The incident occurred at around 5:40pm on Wednesday when the speeding motorbike threw the stationary BMW X3 into a ditch before it caught fire.
When asked where the involved vehicles were headed and coming from, Mkhatshwa said his desk had not received any information pertaining to that as yet.
