EZULWINI - It was a truly a ‘Joyful ‘day for Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini and Pastor Joy yesterday, as they tied the knot - but how did it all begin?
What was happening in the couple’s lives shortly before they faced the world to say, “I do?”

The Times SUNDAY took time to visit the couple very early in the morning before they made their way to the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre in Manzini.
The bride and her bridesmaids got dressed at the grand Royal Villas hotel in Ezulwini.
When this publication arrived at around 9am, we found the bride busy with her make-up.

In a brief interview with the bride when she was asked how she was feeling on her big day, she said “I am not nervous at all, but excited.’’
The bride looked relaxed as the prime minister’s daughter Busisiwe Johnson (nee Dlamini) of ‘Be Gorgeous by Busie’ fame was doing her makeup.
Johnson is a professional make-up artist.

Sonene Nyawo, Maziya’s Maid of Honour, was also one of the people who helped the bride get ready for her big day, with Archana Reddy.
The bridesmaids were dressed in orange and white outfits.

Their attire was designed by well-known stylist Kareem Ashraff, who is also a diplomat.
The wedding rings were purchased from Sterns.
However, the prices could not be immediately ascertained.

There was near panic when hairdresser Bongiwe Magagula of Great Success was running late.
Magagula was responsible for the bride’s hair.
In a brief interview with Magagula she said, “Maziya was brought to her by one of her clients to her salon when she was preparing for her engagement to the premier.
She said after that, she has been doing Maziya’s hair at the comfort of her home.

The mood at the Royal Villas was relaxed and everyone seemed excited about the big day.
Just before 10am, the prime minister arrived at the bride’s villa and reminded the bridesmaids and the wedding crew that they were running late.
He said jokingly, “I am not allowed to see my bride before the wedding.”

He went on to say they were running late as the wedding was scheduled to start at 10:35am.
The wedding procession finally left The Royal Villas at around 10:30am.
The prime minister wed the love of his life in a well decorated hall.

There were over 2 000 guests at the wedding, where the theme colour was orange. The tables were decorated with gold candlesticks draped with gold layers while the chairs were draped in white and gold material. Royal Swazi Sun catered for the event.
The wedding was characterised by romantic music in the background and the different local artists who performed.
