OVER 700 RECRUITS TO GRADUATE ON FRIDAY
NOKWANE – Slightly over 700 army recruits will graduate in a pass-out parade on Friday. This was pronounced by Major Madoda Mkhatshwa, the PRO of the Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF), in an interview yesterday.
Major Mkhatshwa said the army headquarters would play host to the pass-out parade.
He said the recruits, comprising of males and females, would proudly march before His Majesty King Mswati III and Her Majesty Indlovukazi including Emakhosikati, princesses and princes.
“Families of the recruits have been invited to the big day in the lives of their children on Friday,” he stated.
He said the occasion, a momentous one for each recruit, brought to close nine months of challenging training.
The army publicist noted that the pass-out parade marked the beginning of each recruit’s life as a full member of the Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force. Major Mkhatshwa stressed that he had no doubt that the pass-out parade was the biggest achievement for each recruit.
He said, after the pass-out parade, the recruits would be in a suitable position to find the reason behind such rigorous training routines and would never forget that a soldier needed to be determined to do a certain amount of sacrifice in order to serve with a common objective.
The USDF mouthpiece said he had no doubt that good qualities had been transferred to the recruits by a dedicated team of instructors.
The army recruits are trained at the Mbuluzi School of Infantry.
His Majesty is the Commander-in-Chief of the USDF.
The Monarch is expected to bestow medals on a few recruits in recognition of their distinguished performances in certain drills while undergoing training.
