MAN BEHEADS LOVER OVER MAINTENANCE, KILLS HIMSELF

MANZINI - A 32-year-old Swazi woman who was based in South Africa (SA) was hacked and beheaded with an axe in front of her mother by her South African lover over maintenance money.

The man later committed suicide by hanging himself inside his house.
The gruesome incident is said to have happened on Tuesday night at Vezunyawo, an area just before Amsterdam, South Africa.
Information gathered is that Sindi Shongwe and her SA lover, whose name could not be immediately ascertained, had a two-year-old child.

The man is said to have killed his lover after accusing her of abusing him ‘financially’ by using the minor.
He accused his lover of squandering his money by claiming that she wanted to maintain their child, yet she was allegedly using it for her own benefit.

It was gathered that Sindi was staying with her mother in the neighbouring country after the elderly woman separated with the father of her children who was residing at Malutha in the Manzini region.
“Sindi was leaving with her mother in the neighbouring country at a place called Vezunyawo which is situated just before Amsterdam. While living there, she met the man whom she later had a child with. The child is now about two years old,” Lucky Shongwe, Sindi’s brother narrated. 

On the fateful day, the boyfriend was continuously accusing Sindi of squandering his money in the pretext of supporting their only child, stating that she always lied each time she wanted money from him.
He is said to have gone to his lover’s house at night and entered her room through a window.

He found her sleeping and hacked her on the head with an axe he was carrying from his home.
Upon hearing the noise, Sindi’s mother is said to have woken up and rushed to her daughter’s room only to find her head with a gashing wound while the man was just about to leave the room.
Before he got out of the house, Sindi cried out loud and questioned him why he wanted to kill her.

He is said to have shouted back, ‘you are still alive’ before beheading her in front of her mother who screamed for help.
“The man seemed to have been infuriated by something because he just took his axe and went to Sindi’s house where he beheaded her. After hitting her on the head the first time, he had actually thought she was dead but when he heard her talk, he then beheaded her.

 “The mother watched helplessly as the man beheaded her daughter. This is shocking,” said another source.
Following the incident, Sindi’s family went to the man’s home to report the incident. While looking for him to answer to the incident, they found him hanging in his house.

Lucky, who is an elder brother to Sindi, confirmed the matter and said the family was still shocked by the incident.
He said they had been told that he brutally killed Sindi on accusations that she was taking money from him, claiming that she was going to take care of their child yet she was allegedly using it for her own benefit.
