MBABANE – The Bosco Skills Centre will be turned into a battlefield as taekwondo artists trade top shelf skills in the Best of the Best Tournament on Saturday.

The competition is being hosted by Bosco Excelsior Taekwondo Club in conjunction with Excelsior Fitness Zone.
The weigh-in will be at 8:30am at Bosco Skills Centre with the tournament, which is open to both seniors and juniors, kick-starting at 9am. The Olympic style will be used for the event and 2nd Dan Black Belt holder Bheki Nkambule said the event would help fighters prepare for the upcoming international tournaments that include the Region V Championships to be hosted by Zimbabwe next month and the Junior World Championships in Canada later in the year.

Also, invitations for the tournament have been extended to Mozambique teams. Nkambule requested parents to support their children in sports and also encouraged them to release their future stars to participate in the tournament.

“The tournament will present an opportunity for all participants to test or prove themselves in terms of skill and knowledge plus preparation for upcoming international games. We encourage woman and children to take part in sports and acquire some skills that could prevent them from being victims of abuse and being bullied,” he said.

He said as a club they were contributing in the community around the country by encouraging woman to live a healthy life styles and that Taekwondo as a sport was not just about fighting but beyond the ring.
