MAC ATHLETE MLAMULI GWEBU SHINES IN FORM V

MBABANE – Manzini Athletics Club (MAC) is proud of their athlete Mlamuli Sebenele Gwebu who obtained aggregate eight to be in the top 10 best performers in Form V.


The 17-year-old sprinter trains under coach Muzi Mabuza and he was a pupil at Salesian High School where he completed. He is the national champion after winning the 100m last year during the AAS National Championships.
Mabuza said they were proud that their athletes were also committed to their school work and being among the best in the country makes them proud as a club. The Form V results were released on Wednesday.


“The team always encourages its athletes to focus and work hard in school while training at the same time. Education and sport now goes together and we hope that he will continue with his studies and be the best in the country in both sports and education,” he said.
Mabuza said the athlete had a lot of potential in athletics and wished that he could secure scholarships for athletes who were doing exceptionally good academically.


MAC is the club that brought the country’s Olympic athlete duo of Sibusiso ‘Swazi Bolt’ Matsenjwa and Phumlile Ndzinisa. The two went on to represent the country in the 2012 London and 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics Games.
The club is currently training four juniors who are Ndzingeko Dlamini, Silungile Thwala, Mcebo Dludlu and Mzamo Mngometulu for a podium finish in international competitions. The athletes are sponsored by SWAKI.
