LOBAMBA – “It is not about Moneni Pirates having it tough but every point will come hard now.

Those were the words öf Pirates’ mentor Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini yesterday after his troops had to grind a 2-1 win over Red Lions. “It’s the stage that the league is now in that makes it look like it was a tough game. Every point will not come easy now,” he said when questioned about their average performance.
Dlamini said Red Lions were looking to cheat relegation so they were never going to be easy.

He further noted that they were a slightly changed side from the team they beat 7-0 as they added a few new signings with experience.
“I’m happy with the fighting spirit our players put out there as it won us the match,” he explained.

His Lions counterpart, Dumisani ‘DU’ Makhanya, was gracious in defeat. “I saw a lot of improvement here and that gives me hope there’s light at the end of the tunnel. We only got punished for missing our chances,” he said.
Makhanya said their game plan was to frustrate Pirates, which they did well in all departments. He further said with yesterday’s performance, they still had a chance to survive the axe as there were six games left.
