YOU ARE FREE TO INCREASE PACKAGE, KING TELLS SMVAF
EZULWINI – His Majesty King Mswati III has lauded SMVAF for sponsoring the unique Ingwenyama Cup.
The King said the Fund was doing a commendable job in compensating people injured in road accidents, as well as sponsoring the tournament. The unique event known for blending soccer and culture was launched with a three-year E9 million purse in the past year.
In his address during the Ingwenyama Cup prize giving at Royal Swazi Spa in Ezulwini on Sunday, the King lauded Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund for partnering in the event, but highlighted that there was no problem if the sponsor wanted to pump in more money.
“MVA came on board in support of the tournament. We hope they will prosper. They are free to increase the package. It is not a crime,” said the King.
In his address, the King also felt the need to review the prizes allocated to the culture category. At least E200 000 was allocated to culture competitions. The King appealed to company directors to come on board so that the culture individual awards categories could shoot up.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini, felt the presence of the King in the tournament made the champions more dignified; saying players got to learn about the importance of respect.
