MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders captain Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze believes losing to Tambuti in the SwaziBank Cup may see them relegated in the MTN Premier League.

He said their spirit can be dampened. He said they have had enough of Tambuti’s dominance over them and it will come to end on Sunday when the two sides face each other in the quarter-finals billed for 3:30pm.
Highlanders crashed out 1-2 of the Ingwenyama up in the last 16 in the hands of Tambuti, who also beat them with the same score in the MTN Premier League.

“We are in a not so good position in the league. I believe that if we do well in the SwaziBank Cup, nothing will stop us from easily avoiding relegation. The SwaziBank Cup will be a motivation to us and our supporters. On Sunday we are going all out to stop Tambuti’s dominance over us and we believe we are capable of doing that,” he said.

Highlanders are third from the bottom of the log with goal advantage over Red Lions.
Highlanders Manager Sihle Dlamini said the Tambuti game was now like a person who had climbed a paw paw tree while it is windy and the tree may fall at any time.

“Mbabane Highlanders want this trophy more than the other teams and we are going to work hard to successfully reach the finals, starting by beating Tambuti who have dominated us in the past,” he said.
