MBABANE – Vovovo FC are bracing for a tough customer in Manzini Wanderers when they cross swords on Sunday in the quarter-finals of the SwaziBank Cup.

The match is a repeat of the Ingwenyama Cup last 16 meeting, which the National First Division side won 4-2.

Coach Edwin Matsebula observed that their victory in the Ingwenyama Cup has placed them in a difficult situation than before when they were considered as underdogs.
“This one is bigger than the previous one, because Wanderers underestimated us only to find that we are stronger than what they anticipated. We know that they will be more cautious now. However, we are preparing well, trying to keep the players focused, and making an honest assessment of the expectations going to the game,” he said.

He said they were taking it one match at a time, than to try to think of bigger objectives.
“It is safe to live one day at a time than to try to flood the players with plenty of expectations. We are still hopeful of gate crashing the promotion race in the league, and that is also big on its own,” he said.
He said he did not watch the match between Wanderers and Highlanders but he was still aware of the changes that new coach Nyanga Hlophe had introduced to the team.
“We are injury free and every player is raring to go,” he said.

Manzini Wanderers coach Hlophe had last week said his team was taking each game as it came and were only appreciating the progress shown by a number of their young players.
He paid special tribute to heroic goalkeeper Benele Dlamini, who was instrumental in taking the team to the quarter-finals during the last 16 penalty shoot-out showdown against Green Mamba.
Last Sunday the player earned them a crucial point against Mbabane Highlanders with another penalty save on Menzi Sithole.
