BURUNDI REF FOR AFCON U-17 TOURNEY

MBABANE – In spite of all the documented refereeing blunders committed against Mbabane Swallows in Dolssie, Burundian whistleman Pacifique Ndabihawenimana has earned a CAF appointment for the Under-17 tournament in Gabon.

He is among 14 referees and 15 assistant referees who have been named to officiate at the Total sponsored U-17 Africa Cup of Nations competition.

There will be only one COSAFA region centre referee at the tournament and he is Madagascan’s Hamada el Mousa Nampiandraza. However, the region will have three assistant referees in; Lesotho’s Souru Phatsoane, Gilbert Lista of Seychelles and Mozambican Arsenio Chadreque Marengula.

Once again the list is without any referee from the country, with Leticia Viana the last representative in CAF competitions when she officiated in the recently held Women AFCON held in Cameroon last year.
The final tournament will take place from May 14-28, 2017 in the Gabonese cities of Franceville and Port Gentil.
