‘BIRDS’ URGE COMPANIES TO BUY CAF TICKETS

MBABANE – Local companies have been afforded a rare opportunity to plough back to the people by purchasing tickets for next Tuesday’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Individual ticket for the game will cost E40 each and that will apply to all their next home games in the competition going forward, starting with the Platinum Stars match.

The game has been scheduled for 3pm on a working day on Tuesday. And the capital giants, who tried but failed to persuade the Confederation of African Football CAF to move the game to a weekend, felt that without companies buying tickets in bulk, the attendance at the stadium would be poor.

The club General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane said the fact that the game will be played during working hours, will make it difficult for the affording people to come to the stadium.

“It is clear that after the decision to shift the game to a weekend was turned down, only unemployed people can be available to watch the game. And we are, therefore, availing an opportunity to companies to plough back to the people by buying tickets in bulk for people to gain free entry at a discounted E40 per ticket,” he said.

The club on Tuesday disclosed that they have already spent over E2.5 million in the six pre-group stages games which included trips to Botswana, Tanzania and Dolssie in Congo Brazzaville. The club arrived yesterday afternoon, following a six-day trip to Tunisia for the opening match of the CAF Confederation Cup group B match in Sfax against CS Sfaxien. The match ended 1-0 in favour of the home team.
