MANZINI – It is an arm and a leg to run Manzini Wanderers per season.

At least E2m is needed to take care of the hub giants all season long, according to the team’s last meeting minutes. Council of Elders Chairman Sipho Ntshalintshali reported in the last meeting that at least E87 000 is spent on wages. Also, the last meeting had agreed that the current directors comprising Bheki Shongwe, Peter Mathaba and Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini, continue in office pending the finalisation of the process of changing the multi maroon and white outfit from a company to an association.

The meeting was also told that money made from gate takings has taken a slump compared to 2007.
“In 2007, over E270 000 was made from gate collections but just under E200 000 was made in the past season. This is mainly because of the dwindling numbers in stadiums and also PLS fines,” said National Supporters Committee Secretary Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini, as he called for peace from their fans.
Ntshalintshali appreciated the supporters’ behaviour in Saturday’s game against Mbabane Swallows.
