MBABANE – It rained money for the three teams that were the hosts during the MTN grand opening on Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium.

Each team; Green Mamba, Mbabane Highlanders and Midas City took home E72 000 from the gross of E320 000. Each fan paid E40 and there were 8 000 who watched the enthralling games including the Mbabane derby between Swallows and Highlanders.

Moneni Prates beat Midas City 1-0 in the first match of the triple headers, while Green Mamba thrashed Manzini Wanderers 5-1 and Swallows won with a solitary goal to jump to the summit of the log with 13 points after five games.

Green Mamba Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Thami Phakathi thanked all the fans who came to support their teams.
“We are happy with the support rendered by the fans and they behaved well, something we are encouraging during games.

“Thanks to the sponsor MTN for creating such a big day for football and we are confident that people enjoyed the games,” he said.
Phakathi then congratulated their player Banele Mdluli, who scored a brace and named man of the match.
