OUT ‘MAGIDZA’, IN ANDREW AS BULL ANNOUNCE MC
MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders has parted ways with well-known PRO Paul ‘Magidzeludzakeni’ Masilela, again.
Masilela, who re-united with the team before the start of the new campaign, was excluded in the new Highlanders Management Committee (MC) announced at the Robinson Bertram offices in Mbabane yesterday. Making the announcement on behalf of the Directors was new Assistant Secretary/PRO, Maxwell Masuku. Heading the committee is returning General Manager Andrew Mamba. Taking over from Masilela is Mphumelelo Mnisi, who has been re-appointed Head of Secretariat. Masuku said the decision to announce the changes was taken after a joint meeting earlier on the day. The only reason given for sidelining Masilela was that he had been acting in the position all along. Mamba said the latter left a mark and the team would always be grateful for his contribution. Meanwhile, Masilela, who had bounced back to the post after an absence of about two years, accepted the decision. He is popular for dancing in front of the supporters, especially at Somhlolo National Stadium.
“Highlanders are a big team, so they can make changes whenever they like. “I have no hard feelings,” said Masilela. Other notable members of the MC include Sihle Dlamini, who remains Manager while Alson Dlamini has been announced as Treasurer. David Madlopha is Head of Marketing. In his address, Mamba appealed for unity and support in the quest to make the team a formidable side. The latter served in the same post during the tenure of then Director, Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane, who stepped down under pressure last season. Meanwhile, other changes saw Musa Masuku, who was GM, elevated to the post of Secretary to the Board of Directors. Chairman, Zweli Jele, has handed over the chairmanship post to Lucky Mahlalela, albeit on an interim basis. The former will reportedly be away on other duties until further notice.
