SAKHILE, HAYDEN WIN BIG
MBABANE – Tennis junior players Sakhile Hlophe and Hayden Loffler were the big winners in the two-day Swaziland Building Society (SBS) juniors’ tournament.
Hlophe beat Mukelwa Maziya 7-2, 7-5 to be crowned the Under-12 boys champions while Hayden beat Phumlani Fakudze 6-3, 6-0 in the finals to be the winner of Under-16 boys. The tournament was played on Saturday and Sunday at the University of Swaziland (UNISWA), Kwaluseni campus courts. In the girls Under-12 Luching Sorokhabam cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Nonqaba Mkhaliphi to take the trophy home while Tandzile Dlamini was the winner of the under-16 girls. They were only three players in the under-16 girls and they played a round robin with Tandzile winning both of her games and crowned the champion. The tournament was disturbed by rains on Saturday and only the first round games were played. They continued on Sunday from the quarter-finals to the finals.
