MBABANE – Mandla Mahewu’s financial rainfall to the Mbabane Regional League has reached E360 000.

This follows Tuesday’s E70 000 sponsorship announcement for the current season announced by Paula Marques who is the Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing Manager at Mandla Mahewu. The sponsorship launch was held at Sigwaca House with more money to be channelled to the zone’s development leagues, the Under-15s and 17s. The figure reflects a healthy E15 000 increment from the past three season’s E55 000 endorsement. Marques affirmed her company’s commitment to carry on with the partnership that is on its seventh year now. “It has been a great journey and we encourage respect among all football stakeholders, inside and outside the field of play,” she said when speaking to teams’ representatives.

Marques also implored junior coaches to be exemplary to youngsters and teach them good life values before announcing the new package that was met by loud cheers. She added that Mandla Mahewu, as a brand, was gaining wings, having penetrated the Malawi, Mozambique and Botswana markets. Speaking on behalf of the National Football Association (NFAS), vice president Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane said sponsors were an important ingredient in football for motivation which stimulates competition which as an end result, helps improve the country’s senior national team Sihlangu. Simelane warned the Mbabane teams to take care of the sponsor and promote their product.
