MBABANE – Debbie Hawley is breaking records than dishes.

Hawley is the first lady to have reached the 10 times winning record of the Mbabane Parkrun.
This is the record which Nkululeko Gama holds, as he has also won the race 10 times.
This follows her latest achievement yesterday where she shone in the female category, to make it 10 wins in her 13 total runs. She finished the 26th edition of the five kilometres parkrun in 25:25 minutes.

The race saw 39 runners who braved the cold weather at Mbabane Club yesterday.  In the overall category, Mduduzi Dlamini managed to finish the race in 16:47 minutes to make it three wins in the 26 editions.
Speaking after the race, Hawley said it was more about keeping fit and healthy than competition.

“Well today I could not be at my personal best because it was really cold, otherwise when I compete, I do it against the watch. Well for me I have always been a runner, I have done Imbube and Swazi Plaza Night run, it’s good to be out there and inspire the young ones to run,” Hawley said.
Coming second in the overall category was Delisa Mbetse, who almost beat the winner to the number one spot as he finished the race in 16:54 minutes. Swazi Slojos athlete Sifiso Vilakati came third on 17:37 minutes.
