OVER 50 ‘GOLDEN FEET’ FOR TOP SA MARATHONS
MBABANE – Golden Foot will celebrate their Chairperson, Tokky Hou’s award by competing in two big South Africa’s marathons, Soweto and Kaapsehoop marathons this weekend.
Hou is the founder of Golden Foot Club that is currently boasting of five branches all over the country with over 2 000 registered athletes. Her hard work was recognised by the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, who awarded her with a special award together with golfer Nobuhle Dlamini and former Sihlangu coach Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga. This was during the SNSRC National awards held at the Convention Centre on Saturday.
Over 20 athletes will compete in the Kaapsehoop Marathon on Saturday, while over 30 athletes are billed for Soweto marathon on Sunday at FNB Stadium. The Soweto marathon is one of the world celebrated events in South Africa where over 20 000 athletes from all over the world cascade to compete. “Yes the team will be out of the country this weekend to compete in the big marathons scheduled for South Africa. Athletes who will do well in the Soweto Marathon had the chance of qualifying for the Two Oceans Marathon,” she said.
