MBABANE – With rains sweeping through the country yesterday, a positive for farmers, Khuba Traders rained E30 000 towards the Manzini South Festive Football Tournament.

This year’s event will be the third edition of the tournament with the marriage between the agricultural suppliers and Manzini South Member of Parliament (MP) Owen Nxumalo having started with E15 000 in 2015. It is getting bigger with each passing year with company director Bradley Young declaring their commitment to social and societal development. “We are happy to be involved at the grassroots development of the sport and we are hoping to avail ourselves on a wider scale across the country in the future,” Young said when presenting the cheque during the launch held at Sigwaca House in the presence of Manzini South MP and Minister of Public Service Nxumalo, Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Christopher Gamedze, Football Association (FA) president, Senator Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa and Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) Chairman Victor Gamedze among other dignitaries.

Young described Minister Nxumalo as one with a servant’s heart as he worked for the people. “The best example of a person with a servant heart is Jesus Christ in the holy Bible.” Nxumalo, in his address, described Khuba Traders as a true friend and that he prayed for more rains so that farmers can support their business. He highlighted that the money would be divided across three places under the constituency, Moneni, Mhobodleni and Ngwane Park for the tournament earmarked to begin towards Christmas. Nxumalo added that there will be a budget for professional referees to handle matches.
