MBABANE – A battle between Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Highlanders is the second biggest in local football – no wonder it has started playing long before the first whistle blows tomorrow at Somhlolo National Stadium.

The two meet in the second match of the Y’ello Sunday triple-header at 1:30pm before strong title contenders Mbabane Swallows, currently leaders by two points meet second-placed Young Buffaloes at 3:30pm. These two matches will be preceded by Vovovo and Moneni Pirates at 11:30am.

Wanderers, who have had a fairly good first round compared to their star-studded rivals tomorrow, lost 4-1 in the first round and are going to throw everything at Highlanders on and off the field as it has transpired.

In a pre-match meeting held between all the hosting clubs, PLS and league sponsor MTN Swaziland at Somhlolo National Stadium, it was established that Wanderers, backed by Buffaloes, requested that Highlanders’ supporters be moved from their grandstand to the No Man’s Land.

“They put their reasons on the table and it turned out Buffaloes ought to use the grandstand,” said a source close to the matter.
Our source said that their argument was that Buffaloes would fill the grandstand as they would bring their supporters from the barracks. This issue came to discussion when they were working on the sitting arrangement for tomorrow’s games that are set to attract yet another big crowd.

PLS’ COO Pat Vilakati when reached confirmed they had a pre-match meeting in which they discussed certain logistics with the clubs and the sponsor. He also confirmed the Highlanders’ grandstand request by Wanderers.
