MBABANE – Newly-appointed Mbabane Highlanders coach Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane, is already showing who the master in the team is.

The coach has put the striker Mfanufikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze on ice for a week. The player was told to stop training with the team on Monday, a day after the capital city giants lost 1-0 to Manzini Wanderers at Somhlolo National Stadium.
And a source close to the team disclosed that ‘Fash’ has been reportedly not in good terms with the coach lately, after a string of alleged misconduct. “He is talented but clearly the coach is not happy with him. He does not take his craft seriously. ‘‘If he wants to impress Ngubane, he must be serious during training and always show hunger to fight for his place in the team. He has been suspended until Monday just to clear his mind,” the source said.
Meanwhile, when ‘Fash’ was reached for comment, he confirmed that he had been stopped from training.

“Yes it is true that I have been stopped from training, although the coach was not clear why. However, I respect the coach and he has his reasons why he stopped me. I am not sad about it and I am hoping when I join the team next Monday, I will be at my best. It is sad that I have to miss two crucial games but there is nothing I can do about it,” Ndzimandze said. Ngubane could not entertain questions from this publication when queried on the latest developments. Meanwhile, Mbabane Highlanders PRO Mpumelelo Mnisi said he was clueless on the issue. “Look, I have not been at training lately, so it is hard for me to comment on this,” Mnisi said. This means the former Moneni Pirates striker missed last night’s game against Matsapha United and he will not be part of the squad to face Royal Leopard on Sunday. Reports of indiscipline among senior players have emerged at the club during the coaching tenure of Alou Badara, who quit his position early this month.
