POOL PLAYER PRAISES FATHER FOR SUPPORT

MANZINI – Top pool player Flag Nxumalo has singled out his father as the main inspiration in winning The George Hotel Pool Single League.

Nxumalo made these remarks during the league prize presentation held at the hotel premises in Manzini yesterday.
For his achievement, he pocketed a sum of E2 300, a trophy and a gold medal.
He became the champion after winning the 15-singles league marathon by 69 points.

This was his second time winning the league under The George Hotel banner. He won the inaugural edition three years back while Sikhatsi won the second and third edition consecutively.
The total package was E10 000 for this fourth edition.

Nxumalo said he received massive support from his father, Hamilton ‘Waga’ Nxumalo.
“He has been my pillar of strength throughout the season. I want to thank him for the support. I also want to thank my bosses at Correctional for giving me time to be part of these games,” Nxumalo said.
He further said he would gladly jump at the opportunity of playing an the international stage to gain exposure. “The Manzini Mayor, Mxolisi Mabuza’s offer to compete on foreign land will be a welcome change for me as I believe it could help me improve my game,” he said.
Coming second was Sifiso Dlamini who received E1200 and a silver medal while Menzi Ngomane came third on 63 points, taking home E1100 and a bronze medal.
