MBABANE – A football decision it is by the Premier League of Swaziland’s (PLS) Executive Committee!

As elite clubs were worried about security during games with Matsapha United and convened a PLS Board of Governors meeting on Thursday, raising their concerns, the PLS Executive Committee which in some quarters had been ought to suspend the elite rookies, did not take that route.

The Executive Committee chaired by acting PLS Chairman Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula met Matsapha United’s owner and co-director Victor Malambe along with their CEO Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini at Sigwaca House.

“The PLS Executive Committee had a meeting with Matsapha United just as we had one with the Board of Governors yesterday (Thursday). This was mainly about security issues following concerns of that nature from people and clubs.

“To allay fears from all Swazis, all games will continue as scheduled by the PLS. Moneni Pirates and Matsapha United game goes ahead at Mavuso Sports Centre,” Magagula said as he read their decision as is.

Questioned if they did reach a stage where they discussed the club’s representation in the PLS Board of Governors following that the person who was standing for them is the arrested Sipho Shongwe, Magagula said that was for Matsapha United to handle.
“Constitutionally, the current Governor must write a letter withdrawing himself but then again, that was meant to promote the spirit of good leadership for proper handovers. Otherwise we can withdraw him without the letter and we understand exactly what the situation is here,” he said.
