MBABANE – SwaziBank Cup three-time champions, Royal Leopard begin their chase for a record fourth title when they visit struggling National First Division side Amalanda at Somhlolo National Stadium this evening.

On paper, Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane’s troops are favourites to cruise into the next round, but are forced to tread carefully against the Shiselweni-based ensemble, who are known for claiming big scalps in knockout tournaments. The latter’s casualties include Manzini Wanderers and Young Buffaloes.
It is a repeat of the past year’s last 32 match-up, which saw Leopard recording a convincing 3-0 win.

After an unconvincing start in the new campaign, Leopard are proving to be a late bloomer, as they are already in the final of an almost similar tournament styled Ingwenyama Cup. After being eliminated by Vovovo in the last 16 in the past year; Leopard are in a bid to challenge for gold for the first time in about four years. Victory for Amalanda could go a long way in motivating them in their survival campaign in the league.
