BRING BACK ‘MADZE’!
LOBAMBA – Good riddance! This was the view of Members of Parliament (MPs) as they reacted to the news of the dismissal of former Sihlangu coach De Jongh.
Chairperson of the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Porfolio Committee, MP Frans Dlamini, said as MPs they would always remember the former coach for nothing.
He told Minister David Ngcamphalala that in future, government or the Football Association must seriously look into the curriculum vitae (CVs) of those who apply for the position. “You must carefully peruse their CVs so that we can see their successes and failures, instead of what you did with this previous coach,” said MP Dlamini.
Meanwhile, LaMgabhi MP Sicelo Jele also said he was happy that the former coach had returned home.
He asked if the FA did not consider recalling former Sihlangu coach Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga.
He said Bulunga had done a stellar job and had even raised the country’s FIFA rankings.
Meanwhile, Sandleni MP James Simelane also thanked the ministry for getting rid of the ex-coach because he had brought nothing but misery to the Swazi nation.
This was after the minister had confirmed that the coach had already been sent packing and stated that there was now a strategy in place on how to build up Sihlangu.
Meanwhile, the MPs also decried the state of Somhlolo National Stadium, stating that at least the grass should be cut.
Princess Ncengencenge said the stadium was no longer a venue for anything and it should just be a national monument.
She said it was a pity that a new stadium had not been budgeted for.
