MBABANE – “Come and be our 12th player.” This was a passionate plea to the nation by Mbabane Swallows General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane, ahead of Saturday’s crunch CAF Champions League first round second leg at Somhlolo National Stadium.

The team is on full time camp for the game where they are expected to defend a 2-1 first leg win attained in Lusaka last week Wednesday.  The practice match took place in the absence of mentor Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati, who was expected to join them later in the evening. Ace midfielder Felix Badenhorst took no part in the practice match, with blisters under his feet.

“The camp is proceeding smoothly with all the players committed to the job at hand. We will have a full strength squad and we can assure that even Felix will be available come match day,” he said.
He said prayers and all kinds of support from the nation would be ideal going to the game.

“This is a national duty that requires a collective effort from every Swazi. We appeal for the support on the day, because your presence will surely be a spring upon which to soar high,” he said.  The practice match was overseen by assistant coach Siyabonga Bhembe, where the trio of Njabulo Ndlovu, Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze and Richard McCreesh dazzled.

The indications are already clear that the Beautiful Birds will go for the jugular on Saturday against Zanaco, with a starting eleven that will comprise of the club’s experienced campaigners. Sandile Hlatshwako looked sharper upfront and there is a clear possibility that Felix will start ahead of McCreesh, behind the lanky forward.
