RSP WIN NSIMBI RECYCLERS SHOOTING TOURNEY
MBABANE – Royal Swaziland Police shottists’ adeptness at the shooting range continues unabated. After Saturday’s team shoot at Mzimpofu Shooting Range outside Manzini, a police team shot an unmatched 935 points to prevail ahead of other seasoned competitors in the tournament, which was played under sponsors Nsimbi Recyclers’ banner.
Familiar ‘ghosts’ in Nhlanhla Sithole, Dumisa Bhembe, Phinda Mlambo, and Bongani Sihlongonyane, who were representing RSP A, combined to fire a golden score from seven, 10, 15, 20 and 25 metres.
Ranking second was a team from Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF) that was made up of Apollo Ngwenya, Zakhele Sithole, Mlondi Dlamini, and Samanisi Ngwenya. They finished on 928 points.
Confirming the results, Swaziland Shooting Association Secretary Sifiso Mtsetfwa thanked the sponsor Nsimbi Recyclers for staying on board, saying the company promised an increased purse in 2019. The sponsorship for this year was E5 000.
Meanwhile, the revived association, according to Mtsetfwa, recently adopted its constitution. It was approved on March 14, 2018, at a special general meeting held at Matsapha Police Station.
“We thank the clubs for the attendance,” said Mtsetfwa.
The adoption of the constitution could open doors for the association. The long wait for international participation could soon be over.
