CALEB INTERIM SIHLANGU ASSISTANT COACH
MBABANE – Green Mamba coach Caleb Ngwenya is the new interim Sihlangu assistant coach. The seasoned gaffer has been appointed to assist interim head coach Anthony Mdluli.
Ngwenya, who used to coach the national Under-20s side, joins a new-look technical bench comprising of former Manzini Sundowns mentor Musa Manyatsi, who is goalkeeper coach. National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe confirmed the changes yesterday.
“The Executive Committee has completed the appointment of the complementary technical staff of the team to assist Mdluli in the interim.
“The appointment of a team manager and kit assistant for the national team will be advised at a later stage,” said Radebe through a statement.
The Mdluli-led technical team’s first task was to assembly a national team that is on fulltime training since yesterday until next Wednesday.
Ngwenya’s phone rang unanswered when sought for comment last night.
Sihlangu are without a permanent head coach following the departure of Dutch Pieter De Jongh over a month ago.
Changes have also been made in the rest of the national squads and Matsapha United coach Dumsani ‘DU’ Makhanya has replaced Mandla ‘Stofu’ Dlamini as the new national Under-20s coach.
The Under-23 men national team, whose activities would normally come once over a four-year period, will be under the national team senior coaches.
