RSP, CORRECTIONAL CRUISE IN NETBALL LEAGUE

MBABANE – Heavyweights Royal Swaziland Police (RSP) and Correctional have maintained their flawless start in the Swaziland Building Society Netball League.

After round three at OlympAfrica Sports Development Centre in Lobamba on Saturday, holders Correctional beat fellow security forces side Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF) by 61-19 to tighten their grip on the top spot. However, they are still forced to look over their shoulders by RSP, who are only behind on inferior goal difference. The latter beat Manzini Ladies by 71-21. According to results confirmed by the National Netball Association of Swaziland (NNAS) Management Committee, OlympAfrica beat RSSC 47-16 in the other match-up of the day.

It was former’s first win of the campaign. Only Mbabane Raiders were not in action in the seven-team league in the past weekend. After the past week’s action, the top three is made of Correctional, RSP and Mbabane Raiders, respectively.
Meanwhile, the league will take a one-week break to give way to the Easter Holidays. Action will resume next Saturday at a venue to be confirmed. RSP will face Mbabane Raiders while Correctional have a date with Manzini Ladies in some of next week’s matches. After week four, there will be the eagerly-awaited titanic clash between RSP and Correctional.
