MBABANE – Hub giants Manzini Wanderers have been engulfed by a dark cloud.

The team is mourning the passing away of their former administrators in Freddy Dlamini and Phillip ‘Big Daddy’ Dlamini, who was also part of the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Executive committee.

The National Supporters Committee (NSC) Secretary, Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini said this was tragic to the team. He said they learnt with shock the demise of the two administrators who worked hard for the club. Freddy was well known in the maroon and white outfit as a no nonsense marshal, as he protected the club at all costs while ‘Big Daddy’ served as the NSC Secretary back in the 1980’s while the chairman was Gideon Gwebu.

“Freddy will be remembered by his no nonsense approach as he performs duties of the club, especially as a marshal and he was part of the fierce impi that went to Siteki to fetch Wanderers player Juries, who was training with XI Men In Flight in the late 1980’s.

“We are devastated with what has happened and we pray that God be with their families in these trying times. I urge the Wanderers family to come together at this time and support their families as they were part of our family,” he added. Freddy Dlamini will be laid to rest tomorrow at Logoba after a night vigil. A memorial service is scheduled this afternoon at Divine Healing Ministries, starting at 1pm.
