SIMUNYE – Fitness enthusiasts had the verve to survive the exciting, but challenging first Swazi Warrior Challenge of 2018.

Simunye Country Club was once again home to the event yesterday. The event involved enduring 18 obstacles with the fastest time. Endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy were again put to the test.

While the ‘warriors’ flawlessly executed most of the tasks, the balancing water pit exercise proved to be a nightmare for both men and women. It involved picking up the ball and crossing a pit filled with water. Some of the participations fell into the water.

New obstacles were headlined by the side steps. Participants were required to run along the side steps. If their feet touched the ground, they started afresh.

Flipping a 60kg metal bar and the cargo climb, on the other hand, were among the exercises that were maintained.
Results were yet to be released at the time of compiling the report late yesterday, but Nkoyoyo-based soldier Mzamo Mavuso looked set to maintain his dominance.

A contingent from Mozambique once again made a stop in the country for the challenge.
