EZULWINI – It’s all systems go for the second instalment of the Peaceful Warriors Shooting Cup, following a successful launch yesterday.

The tournament, which is sponsored by patron Prince Bandzile to a tune of E20 000, will be staged at Mzimpofu Shooting Range outside Manzini on Saturday.

The prince announced plans to make the tournament annual when he presented the over 10 trophies that would also be up for grabs. He was speaking during a launch at Sibane Hotel in Ezulwini.

“Through the tournament, we want to encourage all EmaSwati to take part in shooting, as it is an Olympic sport.
“Everyone can take part in the sport and we have the potential to produce shottists who compete internationally,” said the prince.
The prince stressed that the country’s population was small, which made it easy to identify talent.

The prince also lauded government for supporting sports, throwing its weight behind all sporting activities in the country.
Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala was grateful for the prince’s continued support, as the latter was not only a sponsor, but a competitive shottist as well.

“This is an international sport, which is also practised in bigger events like the Commonwealth Games.
“We are happy that things are going well at the moment in sport. The last time we were in Kuwait, there was an interest to assist in the development of shooting in the country,” said the minister.
