LOBAMBA – The national team Sihlangu can expect a ‘Cruiser’ to lift them into their maiden COSAFA Castle Cup final and triumph.

At least that is what is expected this time around from the coach Anthony Mdluli-led Sihlangu that left the country for the tournament in Polokwane, South Africa where they play Lesotho on Sunday afternoon in a quarter-final clash.

However, as they try to get past Lesotho, they will not be alone but the Sports, Culture and Youth Minister David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala will be joining them.

“He said I must apologise for him for not being here as he wanted to but due to other commitments he couldn’t make it. ‘The good news from him though is that he will join you in Polokwane maybe even before you play your first match,” his representative in the Ministry’s Acting Principal Secretary Nhlanhla Motsa said.

He was speaking at the farewell ceremony held at the NFAS Technical Centre yesterday before the squad departed after lunch.  He said while Ngcamphalala would join them in South Africa, he and the whole nation would also be following on television. NFAS’ President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa said that Ngcamphalala would one day join the squad’s officials as he was very involved and supportive through his Ministry and government.
