GOLDEN FOOT BIDS FAREWELL TO COMRADES RUNNERS
MBABANE – Golden Foot Athletics Club hosted a successful 15km race in Ezulwini on Saturday to bid farewell to their Comrades Marathon athletes.
President of Golden Foot Tokky Hou said attendance was good as athletes from their branches in Manzini, Matsapha, Ezulwini, Mbabane attended to wish their colleagues well ahead of the race on Sunday. “We hosted a successful fun race for our departing athletes. We now look forward to the Comrades Marathon and hope to do our country proud,’’ she said.
All the athletes that will represent Golden Foot in this year’s Comrades Marathon were presented with their race kits yesterday. In total 24 of them will take part in the marathon in neighbouring South Africa. This year’s Comrades Marathon covers a 90km stretch from the City Hall in Pietermaritzburg to Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. E425 000 is at stake for the winner.
