‘BIRDS’ PLAYERS NOT FOR SALE - SANDILE
MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows General Manager Sandile Zwane has come out with guns blazing over the unveiling of their players, Sanele Mkhweli and Sandile Hlatshwako by South Africa’s First Division newcomers TS Sporting.
The duo was unveiled yesterday by the Nelspruit-based club as being part of their new signees together with nine others. Left-footed defender Mkhweli and striker Hlatshwako joined their Swallows team-mates at training on Monday and yesterday. Felix Badenhorst is also on the verge of joining Mbombela United.
Zwane said no player would leave or be cleared from the team until their last game in the CAF Champions League, where they target to reach the quarter-finals, at least. The Sihlangu manager said they were not aware of the reports that their players had signed for other teams.
Zwane added that all their players were contracted to them and they were all sharing one goal, that is to play in the Champions League and see where they ended.
“There is no player that will be cleared from the team until we have ended our campaign in the CAF Champions League. These are Mbabane Swallows players and only one player has been cleared so far, and that is Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze to South Africa’s Polokwane City,” he said.
Zwane said they were representing the country in the Champions League, and they could not let the country down by releasing players at such a crucial time of the continental tournament.
Zwane said they were aware that their players were a most wanted property and they won’t stand in their way, but when the time was right.
